The Horde
Made for the Mini Jam 164: Destruction in 3 days!
Theme: Constant Escalation
A simple automation game where you defend yourself from a horde of blobs that is ascending towards your direction. Even before the horde arrives, small waves will show up and try to get you while you build your defenses. Try to survive as long as possible!
- How do tiles work
Drills will collect ore if placed facing it at a rate of one every two seconds
Drills will output ore stored in them if there is a connected belt or item elevator with enough space
Turrets must be fueled with ore that is mined by the drills
Splitters can be used to separate lines of items, they alternate between letting the ore pass and making it fall through it (note that they are directional)
- Controls
A and D -> Move
Space -> Jump (hold to go higher)
Left Click -> Place selected building
Right Click -> Erase buildings
R -> Rotate selected building
Alternate Controls:
Arrow Keys -> Move
W or Up Arrow -> Jump

I knew from the start that this would be a challenging game to make due to the nature of automation games and I really liked how I tackled it but I also didn't get to make as much as I would have liked (didn't even have time for music ;-;). Overall I'm pretty happy with the result I managed to accomplish

I think i reached the end :p
I am terrible at this game, but it has great movement feel. Very snappy and its a fun concept.
